The Committee - 2009/2010

Chairman

Kirsteen Day

Kirsteen is a graduate of Jonny Herbet's Purple and Black army way back when you could ride the trolley bus from Blackpool to Morcombe and still get change from a shilling.

Secretary

Roddy Copland

Roddy started playing Korfball in Dec 2004 quickly establishing himself as the man no beer could touch and a key member of the team which saw Auckland undefeated at socials for a 3 year period 2005 - 2008.

Treasurer

Dave Edwards

When Dave started playing korfball the pitch was split in three, men played in straw boaters and women wore long skirts. 60 years on he's still going strong and holding onto AKs purse strings.

Social Secretary

Helen Cranney

Healing Hands Helen is an import form Wellington. First introduced to korfball as team physio for the 2006 KNZ trip to Hong Kong Helen is now an established player in her own right making several first team appearances in the last year. 2010 looks to be a doozie on the social front!!

Coach

Matthew Day

Matt was sentenced by the military in 1975 for a crime he didn't commit. He was taken to a maximum security compound where he promtly escaped. If you have a korfball, if you can find him, maybe you could call....

Development Officer

Jim Gardner

Jim arrived from the UK in April 2006 having escaped England's South West. He holds the record for the minimum time between arrival in the country (6AM) and attending a Korfball training session (7PM). He also holds the Auckland Cider consumption record proving you can take the man out of Scrumpy land.........

Team Manager

Carol Eddy

Where would we be at NPCs without Carol to organise things? A regular social league player this is Carol's third year on the committee.

Competitions Co-Ordinator

Elise Copland

Along with partner Roddy Elise has been with Auckland Korfball since 2004, once boasting a proud record of 2 socials to every training session. A regular first team member when not off breaking her coxis at Ice Hockey.
